CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION (CDC)

CRP facilitated a three-day expert panel meeting as part of a CDC initiative focusing on cultural competency in HIV/AIDS prevention programs. The meeting was devoted to illuminating the issues that shape and inform the cultural competency components of HIV/AIDS prevention programs targeting racial and ethnic populations. The meeting addressed four key intervention strategies: risk reduction/health education, street outreach, prevention case management, and counseling and testing. CRP facilitators engaged the expert panel members in crafting an innovative model for culturally competent HIV/AIDS prevention programming.
